What includes being healthy? I know that one is taking  vitamins regularly ;) I only started taking vitamins when I was 23 years old.. the time when I got pregnant. But now that I’m getting old, regular dosage of supplements is a must! Yes, not anymore an options to be healthy.

Sharing what my pills basket looks like.. I often buy stuff in bulk to save and that explains the big bottles. lol Also showing my diabetic testing supplies which I don’t really use now. hahahah

I read this great article from a magazine and I just want to share the information that really amaze me how God created our intrinsic body parts ;)

We’re aware that residents of ancient cities built defensive walls to ward off invaders. The city wall acted both as a bulwark to stop the enemy and as a rampart from which defenders could protect the city. Your body is likewise endowed with a protective “wall”—your skin. How does your skin protect you from intruders? The surface of your skin teems with bacteria and other microorganisms, some of which can cause infection and disease. Your skin apparently does more than act as a passive barrier. It also seems to ward off invaders by producing antimicrobial proteins, or peptides, that act as defenders. Some of these are on duty constantly. Others line up when the skin is damaged. The first two groups of antimicrobial peptides discovered, called defensins and cathelicidins, proved to be defenders on call. Both groups are secreted by cells in the upper skin in response to injuries or inflammation. They kill invaders by punching holes in their cell membranes.

In 2001 a team of researchers at the University of Tübingen, Germany, found another type of germ-fighting protein, called dermicidin, which is active all the time. Unlike the other two groups, dermicidin is produced by healthy skin, in the sweat glands. How this protein works is yet unknown. But the fact that perspiration helps ward off disease might explain why people who wash excessively are more prone to skin infections and eczema. And I’m thankful that eczema treatment is available for us.

Like an ancient city wall, our skin is a barrier against enemy invaders. Surely, you would agree with the psalmist who said: “How many your works are, O Jehovah! All of them in wisdom you have made.”—Psalm 104:24.

I’ve been spending most of my time reading information from www.acnetreatmentsreview.net regarding my hormonal acne. I tried various acne products that normally helps me on the first week or month.. but my problem will still occur the following month. Since the cause of my breakouts is really from inside my body.. the solution should also come from inside. And I read a book that advises different supplements to take for taming my over reactive hormones. I will definitely try it. I just need to do more readings before purchasing it.

I hope this young boy will not have a problem like me in the future ;)

Being bulky or muscular is something I don’t want to happen when I lose weight. Although it looks attractive to some people, I don’t think it will be to me. So I’m not thinking to add muscle supplements to my daily dose of pills.. that means I don’t need to hang out and read muscle supplement reviews from the forum.

And look taking supplements to make me healthy is a lot already.

I’m thankful that I don’t have to shop for blackhead remover for my skin; however, I have acne prone skin that caused by my hormones. I’m just being thankful that I don’t have too many things to think when it comes to my skin.. it could be a big problem for me but too little for other people.. or it could be vice versa. I called in sick today cause I woke up very late.. not enough sleep at night is also contributing to the cause of my breakouts. So who else to blame? No one else.. but me.

Who wouldn’t like a healthy quick weight loss? I will be the first one to say YES! Of course losing it quickly is as important as keeping it off. It will be useless if you will loose weight quickly then gain all it back quicker than when you lose it.

The kids just have their bath and we will be leaving 1.5 hours from now to the graduation party at the park. Another fun day for the kids!

I think the cream I am using for my face will not work for my mom. She has different needs than me. One of her concerns is wrinkle removal and prevention. I found few products that look like best for her, based on the feedback and advertisements; however, the tag price is pretty much steep for just a small jar of cream.

I remember scouting for the best diet program and pills that will work on losing weight, I even remember learning stuff from www.hcgdiet.net and almost was about to apply. However, my friend shared information about Atkins Diet, the program I’m familiar off the name but don’t really know that deep. I have impression that it’s not healthy because it lets you eat all the fats and for me that is unhealthy. lol

I’m like that, so quick to judge sometimes without verifying the facts. Anyway, I bought the book and read it as fast as I can to educate myself more about this diet. And I realized that this is the diet that will surely work for me. So there it goes.. my Atkins life begins ;)

On my research to loose weight, I read may times from health blogs that colon cleanse is the first step in loosing weight.  I was almost to follow the advice but I’m scared to take pills that will me poop. I accessed the problem or should I say the cause of my weight gain it’s not really eating junk food but my appetite.  I have big appetite like man who does physical labor as their day job.. in short like a construction laborer. lol So I know that the colon cleanse will not be that effective if I cannot stop the main problem, which is my over eating/huge servings of food that I desire.

So if you decide to loose weight too.. analyze what is the reason of your weight gain. Over eating, junk food splurge, no physical activity, or hormonal imbalance. Then start the fix from the main problem.

So related to my post about my daughter’s pink eye.. what is pinkeye anyway? And before I look for cheap netbooks online, I went ahead and googled about pinkeye.

And look at this eye, this looks like Lianne’s eye this morning.. the white or jelly/like film on her left eye is really swollen. We never had incident like this before so that explains why we’re so ignorant and worried what happened to her eye.

My daughter is turning 6 years old two months from now. And this is something I’m not looking forward:

Whether it occurs early, late, or right on time, the growth spurt of puberty makes many youths overly aware of how they look. Girls may greet their new curves with excitement or with apprehension—or with a mixture of both. Add the discovery of acne—and makeup—and it is easy to see why teens may seem to spend more time in front of the mirror than in front of a school textbook.

At her age now, she is very conscious on her looks. So imagine how she will act few more years from now. I just hope that she will not have a problem on her skin or she will have a quest for best acne treatments on her teens life. And also would not be overweight or obese or she will have a hard time finding nice clothes to wear.

Why people that aiming to lose weight normally falls to quick weight loss diet? I have nothing against with the quick solution.. but sometimes this thing will only work on the first time but still the lifestyle and lessons that you need to learn are still not deeply rooted to your mind and heart. Thus, after the quick weight loss.. the weight will come back plus more pounds.

All I think now is.. eat healthy and keep moving! ;)

I asked my husband to request quote thru insurance online for our auto and home coverage.  The current insurance we have is under his name.. so I preferred him to answer the questions that I don’t know when applying for one.  They asked too much and most of those things are hard for me to answer.  So he better deal with it..

I’m having headache today and I think this is due to chocolates/sweets withdrawal I am doing.  So far it’s almost 6pm and no chocolates, candies, muffins, cakes, or any sweets in my palate. :D So happy about that!

Today is Thursday and it’s my Friday :D We have no work tomorrow because of the furlough day and I have few errands I need to do.

  1. My annual check up in the afternoon.
  2. Visit a friend and his family in Pocket area and also harvest their lemon tree ;)
  3. Grocery shopping and some window shopping for clothes.
  4. And at night, I need to edit photos from June 2009 to print.
  5. Buy the hgh supplements for my sister because we need to send another balikbayan box this month.

I will be sad when the furlough days is over.. but I will get more pay by that time. hehe ;) I guess the extra money will offset my sadness then lol

Based on my experience, I finally found a natural acne treatment for my acne-prone chin. ;) The culprit of unstoppable sprouting of pimples on my chin is because of my diet. I eliminated/lessen eating friend chicken and shrimp. I love both of these foods and I never imagined that every time I eat these, it triggers my acne. I also stop using acne products, just regular face wash and moisturizer and my skin is finally clear. My problem now is lightening the freckles that I accumulated by not using sunscreen before and some dark scaring of my previous acne. Any advice?

After the pinch I felt on my heart the other day, I am now planning to reduce bad cholesterol on the food I eat. To plan healthier meals is a challenge; I need to love preparing food in the kitchen and to be strong enough to avoid temptation. Therefore, my plan tonight is to go grocery shopping at Costco. I need to buy greens for my salad and some fruits too. I also started my research on what food is low in bad cholesterol but good in heart. I really need to be healthy.

If ever I lost weight and be on my ideal or healthy bmi, I will still need a tummy tuck. lol This is what I said to my friend here at work. I think to get rid of belly fat will be the hardest for me. I never had a flat or hard rocking abs even I was thin.. so accomplishing it after two kids will be hard too I guess. And let see if my Total Gym can help me with this problem.

Yaaay! It reminds me to put on my shoes and start working out.

We know that the best way to lose weight is easy. I mean saying it easy but hard to apply. Just eat right and increase activity and you will surely loose weight. Sounds easy right.. but why our population still have overweight and obese? Oh well!

I feel frustrated after I ate a lot. I hate myself for not controlling my appetite. I hate, hate bingeing! It’s not fun.

I haven’t blog about owning a Total Gym. :D That’s one of the nice part in my life now.. hehhehe

What do you need after munching 6 servings of cookies as your snacks in one sitting? Of course the best fat burner! The next question is what brand should I take? I really feel bad after eating the half box of cookies.. I looked at the calories and from what I ate, I just consumed 750 calories as a snack! grrrr! I need to put masking tape on my mouth so I can stop eating. :(

With my two pregnancies, I didn’t search for best best prenatal vitaminsbecause my OB provided me separate pills/vitamins. I got multi vitamins, calcium, folic acid, and ferrous sulfate/iron. The iron is the nasty one! I get sick every time I take it. I followed advice I found from the forum to take it at night instead of morning and that helped me with my morning sickness.

I miss being pregnant. I love to see more kids at home. lol But now, I don’t want to deal with the childbirth/labor anymore.
